Nothin'

You may remember me saying writing runs in the family.  Well, so does writing about nothing, apparently.  My Dad told me that in school he had to do journal entries, and he could somehow write an entire page or two about not having anything to write about.

I think half my blog is pretty much the same way.

So today I'm once again talking about nothing.

Busy as a Bee...A Very Busy Bee!

Unfortunately I have to keep this post quick as I have to leave the house soon, which is why no 'Today's Topics.'

I believe last post or possibly the one before that I said I was busy.  Well I got busier.  So many projects I've put for myself, and so many more that have been put on me by others, which, unfortunately, I have to do.

I'm being worked hard, so when I get some free time I spend a bit too much of it on YouTube instead of doing productive things like keeping this blog somewhat updated.

I plan to do a longer post, maybe later today, but if I don't I just wanted to tell you amazing readers that I haven't forgotten about this place!

 So social networking has taken our world by storm in the last five years or so.  Yes, I know it existed before that, but I'd say it's only become really popular in that time frame.

Anyway, it's changed our world.  A lot.   At first it made it easier to commune with friends.  That's probably all anyone had planned, back then.  But social networking slowly started integrating into our lives, changing even more.

Words of Wisdom

I'm still debating within my head what to blog about next, but in the mean time, I have something to share.  I was browsing the World of Warcraft forums, and I found this post.  If only the world was like this, it would be so much of a better place.



"There's many things I'd like to respond to in this thread... but instead of joining the fray, I'm going to post a brief, subjective though-belch as a kind of a pallatte-cleanser (I hope).

I find that in current political discourse, we do not debate what our ideals are and what values we aspire to uphold as a society, a nation or a planet. Instead, we split ourselves into convenient, binary oppositions and demonize the "other side", arguing that "they" conspire to dominate us, and that by eliminating their ideas we will, essentially, fix everything that is wrong.

In this sense, WoW often seems to me to be a striking analog of our real life situation, just with a much more interesting backdrop of dragons & magic & stuff.

I've realized I keep starting with 'It's been a while since my last post.'  This happened when I used to do mass e-mails.  Coincidentally, I don't do many mass e-mails anymore.  Hopefully I'll start posting more often so I can't use that starter anymore.

So as many will know already, I'm writing a book.  Man is it hard...I've come so far, and am so close to finishing, but right now is the hardest part.  I just need to add a bunch of little things to make sure that my book is ready.  Absolutely positively ready.

Dreaming of Demons

I had THE most amazing dream last night.  It was like a video game or something.  I was a very powerful mage that was with other mages, and a huge amount of soldiers from the Imperial Legion in the Elder Scrolls (Third Era/Oblivion Time-frame).  We had to defend a fortress from an army of demons.  A lot of demons.  To top things off, I'm pretty sure I had full control over myself within the dream.

First (sort of, you'll see why in a sec) we got SOPA.  The Stop Online Piracy Act.  You've almost definitely heard about it;  I talked a little bit about it here, though you most likely read about it from the many other sites that shut down for a while (including Twitter, Wikipedia, and Can I Has Cheezburger?).  Then came PIPA, which the protests also talked about, but SOPA, coming first was the big one.  Then we finally banished the two of them back to whence they came, turning even their own supporters against them.  But I've got news for you, it ain't over.

Well, it's been a while since my last blog post.  A very long while.  Too long.  And after I'm sure you all went into despair about the loss of my regular posting, and constant urging from a certain friend/blogger, I have returned.  And with good news.  Now there is no definite date, but I should, should be getting more internet soon.  Better internet.  Enough internet to play World of Warcraft, Minecraft, and Starcraft, all at the same time.

 Alright.  As the title implies, I could not think of a good title today.  I'm not feeling overly creative.  I'd just like to take one quick moment to mention a subject of my previous post, SOPA.  Now I don't want to linger on it, but I want to, once again, apologize for any inaccurate information.  I don't know what I'm talking about half the time, and with something as complicated as politics, that's no exception.  But really, I'm not sure if anyone knows what they are talking about when it comes to bills.  Where do you read them?  And they are so specific, that if you slightly misread them, I'm guessing it can really mess things up.  And then if a few of the 'experts' mess up, everyone else will go with them, excepting this as fact.  That's why I don't normally get involved.
